Linda Mathes is originally from Southern California and has lived in the greater Sacramento area since 1979. She moved “up the hill” with her husband to El Dorado Hills in 2005.
Linda learned to knit from her grandmother when she was seven years old and knitted off and on when she was younger. For the past 25 years or so knitting has become her passion, and she always has several projects going on at once — usually at least one lace project, and at least one or two (or more) other projects, often with cables. After a number of years teaching knitting to anyone who was interested on the El Dorado Transit commuter bus, on her daily commute to downtown Sacramento, she is excited to share her love of knitting with the students at Lofty Lou’s. |
Meet Helen Keith, teacher of the Brioche Ribbed Hat class. Helen has been a knitter most of her life, and a pattern designer since 2021. She has several published designs on Ravelry. Originally from Washington state, Helen now lives in Camino with her husband and pets. She spends her free time skiing, wine tasting, and of course, knitting as much as possible. Helen is also a regular at the Thursday night community table if you’d like to meet her in person
